Went camping and fly fishing with a friend on the Au Sauble River. The prey was brown trout. The "fly" I used was actually an imitation baby mouse. He'd caught fish fly-fishing before, but that weekend we both came up empty-handed. I'm going up to visit him in Maine after my week in Brooklyn.

It is a fine and sometimes pointless way to be outdoors. Far superior to golf.

I got totally hooked -- I couldn't just ignore that pun. Now I'm looking for fly fishing guides in Brooklyn or the vicinity.

I’m sure there’s great fly fishing all around there once you get out of the city.

My husband loves to fly fish but it takes finesse for sure! Great work!

Great video. Hunter? You didn't make that up?

Thank you, Mark. Totally true, I swear. When he told me his name, I tried to make a joke: "I once went on a hunting trip with a guide named Angler", but Hunter thought I was just a big-city wise-ass.

My wife and I just took Orvis fly-fishing 101 in Preston, Minnesota. Sponsored by Orvis, and put on by the local outdoors store. All gear provided, waders, rod/reel, flies, and lessons. We had a blast, learned the basics, and each caught a brown trout. We'll be definitely going again.

Thank you, OBAM. As it happens, I just bought a jacket from Orvis in NYC last week. I will ask them about their Fly-Fishing 101.

Sounds like you already know how. I think they have an Orvis 202 though.
