Reminded me of this "ghost forest" I saw somewhere on the shores of Lake Michigan, where an entire forest got covered under six to eight feet of sand dune which choked the roots of the trees but none of them fell. They just stood there, dead. Weird.
My son lives in Wheaton ILL for two years now and that makes me discovering national parks and friendly Americans. I love it. Thanks for your story and great pictures.
